Behind the blog: the making of a blog post

behindtheblogHola! How are you all doing? As you can tell from the title today I’m going to be guiding you through the process of how I make my blog posts! Last year, before I took a break and restarted my blog, I wrote a post where I talked about how I make a blog post- so now I don’t see a reason why I shouldn’t write an updated one! So yeah, here I am, seated in front of my laptop and ready to type in this post for y’all. Hope someone finds this inspiring, helpful or at least fun to read. So let’s blast it and get into the post.

Planning: Obviously the first step is planning the post. Get it’s idea, decide when I’m going to post it, you know? All that jazz! I used to have a blog planner but right now I write my ideas on my phone and choose the one suitable for my mood, the day of posting and also sometimes depending on the posts before it so I don’t publish similar posts consecutively.

Writing the post: After choosing what I’m going to write, I of course begin to actually write. And I don’t know why but I can’t write a blog post without music on… I just have to listen to music that I love! This might sound kind of weird but it actually blocks any noise, it makes me only listen to the sound of the song and the sound of my words as I type them in, one by one. Both sounds I love of course! 🙂

Taking photos: Now that I’ve got the post written, I take the photo/s! I try to be as creative as I can with my photography but as I mostly have to use objects inside my home and take the photos indoors too, it leaves me with limited options. I’m grateful for these options, though. And as I said, I always try to get creative and it always turns out to be fun. XD

Editing the photo: After transferring the chosen photo to my laptop, I start editing it. I use canva which I’m sure many bloggers are familiar with! I used to use picmonkey but as of the time being I’m loving canva! Do you use either of these?

Editing the post: Now is the time I reread my post and edit a few bits here and there to make sure everything is how I want it to be! In this step I try to improve my post as much as I can and make it real, down to earth and fun to read. I put everything together and either schedule it or publish it, depending on the time. Also random question, but do you guys prefer long posts or somewhat medium posts?

Andddd that’s a wrap on today’s post! Hope you enjoyed reading it. And of course, if you have any thoughts or requests don’t hesitate to leave them down below. Hope you have a great day.

Till next time,

  1. Love how you have a structure for writing your posts! I take pictures whenever I have inspiration and I have grammerly so then I don’t have to check😄 Loved the post xx
